the exelerate "nothin' but net" basketball tourney

There is a first time for everything...

And that is why Exelerate wants to start a brand new tradition.

The EXELERATE -> Nothin' But Net B-Ball Classic

(Monday, June 29th, 1pm @ Arbor Creek Park [1420 Kerr Road])

 It's an outdoor street basketball tournament...We won't put together co-ed teams, but guys and girls teams are welcome. And STAFF too...!!!

We would like to have 2 divisions - 2on2 & 3on3, plus an individual "hottt shot" competition.

So put your team together and e-mail me who you are @ exelerate@christiancentre.ca. If you can't seem to organize a team of your own, don't let that stop you. Go ahead and e-mail me and plan to come out and play... Also, bring a neighborhood friend or someone who doesn't normally attend Exelerate. This will be a great way to introduce teens to who we are and what we're all about. You are responsible for your own snacks and drinks...so bring a cooler for your Pepsi...

Well, I'm gonna start perfecting my special "flying j" move...so I better get into the gym.

UPDATE::: It looks like the weather will be great! If you have an outdoor b-ball, it would be a great idea to bring it. The more stuff, the better. Also, if you don't want to sit on the grass, you should probably plan on bringing a lawn chair...and if you're really wise, you'll come with a water bottle or two... Well, I better stop with the whole "don't forget to" speech because I'm starting to sound like a mother...!   C ya 2morrow!   Everything will be wrapped up by 4:00pm...

First of all, I'm sorry for the confusion concerning the location of Arbor Creek Park. I made the mistake of giving you the address as provided by the phone directory and google...but the park is actually on Chotem. I know that almost everybody had trouble finding us, so I am very sorry about that. I also thought that we would have a "no show" with the teams, because it was raining pretty steady all morning and into the afternoon. But even though it was very wet and quite cloudy, we ended up with a total of 4 guy 3on3 teams, and 3 girls show up!!!

Guys HOTTT SHOTTT Winner: Nick D
Guys 3on3 Champs: AJ D, JJ F, & Curtis V

A big super swoosh to all of the winners, a tomahawk jam to everybody who came out, and a massive rejection to the overcast weather!

I think we'll do something like this again this summer...but on a sunny day.
