Statement of Values

Every church is different, and each one has a unique calling and mandate given to them by God to fulfill. As you read our Statement of Values, I hope you will be encouraged by the principles that define the community of believers here at Saskatoon Christian Centre.

- Pastor Keith Johnson

1. Leadership

We value biblical church government as it is reflected in innovative organizational structures as an expression for scriptural authority.

  • Hebrews 13:7, 17
  • Ephesians 4:11, 12

2. Family

We value the family (and the institution of marriage) as an essential building block of the church, (expressed) through child training, the Christian school, and ministries to children and teens.

  • Jeremiah 31:1

3. Corporate Assembly

We value the importance of the "company of believers" expressed through the steadfast commitment of each believer to church membership, submission to authority, the doctrine of the local church, its corporate anointing, and sense of community.

  • Acts 2:42

4. Gift-Oriented Ministry

We value the development of each believer (expressed through faithful service and training in excellence) to the place where his or her gifts and ministries increase and edify the Body.

  • Ephesians 4:11-16

5. Teaching

We value the importance of establishing doctrine in the lives of the believers, through teaching and discipleship, to the end that they are developed in character, mature in their faith, and equipped for every good work.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

6. Outreach

We value the ministry of every believer in personal evangelism (with signs following), community outreach, and the corporate mandate to take the Gospel to all nations.

  • Mark 16:15-20

7. Spirituality

We value the believer’s vital, intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ, developed and maintained in righteousness and true holiness, and expressed in joyful praise, abandonment before God, and unfeigned love of the brethren.

  • Ephesians 4:24

8. Apostolic Ministry

We value the uniqueness of our Apostolic calling; to establish new works, strengthen pastors, and assist churches.

  • Acts 14:22
