So...there is this Gorilla in the Los Angeles area. Kept in a zoo...and very well trained.
KoKo is his name...and his trainers actually taught him some sign language. Dude, I don't even know sign language!
After a major earthquake rocked the region...KoKo's trainers went to go check up on him to make sure he was okay.
When KoKo was asked to descibe what had happened, KoKo sign languaged back to them this: "darn floor...big bite"...
Pretty profound for a gorilla!!!
In his primitive brain, the best way he could describe what happened was "darn floor...big bite". In some ways, those words sum up the essence of an earthquake, yet at the same time the sentence is completely unrefined, clumsy, and well...primitive.
In many ways, that is often the degree we describe GOD...unrefined, clumsy, and primitive. As great as an earthquake is to a gorilla, even greater GOD is to us...
Just try to capture the essence of GOD with your words...
GOD is larger than language.
